Joel has over 40 years of experience in tax, business, asset protection, estate and gift tax planning for entrepreneurs and high net worth individuals. He consults on the establishment of business entities, including limited liability companies (LLCs), S corporations and limited liability partnerships (LLPs). He also consults on and prepares shareholder agreements, operating agreements and other business agreements, wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, family limited liability companies and family limited partnerships. Joel is a former Chair of the Tax Section of The Florida Bar, the recipient of The Florida Bar Tax Section Gerald T. Hart Outstanding Tax Attorney Award (2005-2006) and a Fellow of the American College of Trusts and Estate Counsel.

Joel has spent nine years on the Board of Trustees of Shorecrest Preparatory School and is currently its Treasurer.
